Abstract:This paper conducted a comprehensive literature review of chestnut shells published in the Web of Science （WOS） Core Collection database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure（CNKI） from 2000 to 2023. The literature was analyzed and visualized using CiteSpace. The results generally demonstrated a year-onyear increase in the literature in both Chinese and English. The keyword mapping revealed a paucity of research on the pharmacological effects and mechanisms of chestnut shells. The research progress of chestnut shells is constrained by the absence of clinical and applied research， as well as the research gap in the fields of animal husbandry and animal medicine. It is recommended that researchers increase their efforts in this field to promote the application of chestnut shells in the food， pharmaceutical， and cosmetic industries， so as to promote rural revitalization.
